Trash Schedule

Republic picks up community trash and recycling on Tuesday mornings.  To ensure pickup, place your bins out by 5:00am.

*** RECYCLING ALERT — NO PLASTIC BAGS — Plastic bags are NOT accepted in RECYCLING DUMPSTERS – avoid service disruptions by REMOVING ALL PLASTIC BAGS from recycling containers. ***

*** RECYCLING ALERT — NO FOOD SPOILED RECYCLABLES — Food spoiled recyclables are NOT accepted in RECYCLING DUMPSTERS – avoid service disruptions by  ensuring recyclables do not have food on them. ***

REPUBLIC OBSERVES THE FOLLOWING HOLIDAYS (Republic Services):

  • New Year’s Day, January 1, 2024
  • Memorial Day, May 27, 2024
  • Independence Day, July 4, 2024
  • Labor Day, September 2, 2024
  • Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024
  • Christmas Day, December 25, 2024

If our collection day (Tuesday) falls on or after one of the above holidays on a week day, service will be delayed one day for that week.  If the holiday falls on a weekend, the trash schedule will NOT be delayed by one day.

  • Christmas tree pickup will be on Saturday, 1/13/2024, and Saturday, 1/27/2024.  Please put your trees out the night before and ensure the trees are free of all lights and decorations.
  • 2024 BULK TRASH PICKUP dates have not been determined yet.
    • Acceptable Items:
      • Any item NOT listed on Non-Acceptable Items listed below
    • Non-Acceptable Items:
      • Barrels – unless rinsed and/or empty with both ends cut off
      • Batteries
      • Cars, Trucks, Motor Homes, Buses (No Vehicles)
      • Corrosive Waste
      • Empty tanks – gas, oil, fuel, unless rinsed and/or empty and cut in half
      • EWaste (TV, computer monitor, computer)
      • Flammable Waste
      • Fluorescent light tubes (large quantities)
      • Hazardous Waste
      • Liquids
      • Medical Waste
      • Paint (can accept if dry or hardened)
      • Radioactive Waste
      • Reactive Waste
      • Septic Waste
      • Sewage treatment plant solids
      • Tires
      • Used Oils – motor, hydraulic, mineral, cutting, etc.
      • Appliances – Refrigerators, washers, dryers, etc.
    • Special Waste: (Items that are NOT acceptable without prior approval from RS and/or State)
      • Sludge, ashes, contaminated soils, powders, dust, shredder materials, abrasives, off spec raw, refinery brick materials, animal carcasses, animal waste, oversized items, spoiled foods, foundry sand, PCB materials (below 50 PPM)
  • Yard waste guidance for pickup by Republic.
    • Acceptable Items:  Lawn clippings, leaves, twigs, small branches, weeds, flowers.
    • Non-Acceptable Items:  Tree trunks or chopped wood, lumber, bags weighing more than 40lbs.
    • Preparation:  No loose debris.  All yard waste must be in commercially solid paper bags not to exceed 40lbs each.  All limbs must be cut down to fit in the bags or bundled together.  No limbs longer than 3ft.  Larger limbs will be treated as bulk items.  Refer to bulk notes above.
    • If your yard waste does not comply with the above guidance, Republic will NOT pick it up.
